Fritz Ozuna was born in San Antonio, TX in 1950 and is now living on a farm near Comfort, TX.  He makes neon used in combination with other sculptural materials.  Welded aluminum, steel, wood, stone, acrylic paintings, found objects, and other materials are brought to life when illuminated with his multi-colored neon “lightsticks”.

The appearance of his sculpture changes as light conditions change, coming into full bloom as darkness approaches.  Colored reflected neon light is of special interest to Fritz.

Fritz has worked with neon since 1978, with his early years spent in commercial applications.  Since 1999, his work has largely consisted of commissioned pieces for private homes.

The work has evolved from fairly simple wall sculptures to large wall and freestanding indoor and outdoor art pieces.  In the future, Fritz hopes to build ever larger and more dramatic works that will take his abilities and the materials used to their maximum artistic potential.
