Nick
Schneider started working at clay at twelve years old at Interlochen
Center for the Arts in
northern Michigan. His pursuit of ceramics took him to the
University of Montana where he was introduced to the woodfired
pottery tradition. He was later the head production potter for
Pewabic Pottery in Detroit and went on to receive his Masters in
Fine Arts from State University of New York in New Paltz.
Nick spent his time from 2005 to
2011 teaching at Greenwich House Pottery and Marymount Manhattan
College in New York City and traveling upstate to build and fire
wood kilns with his friends and students. His lifelong dream of
building his own wood kiln brought him to central Texas in the
summer of 2011.
