Linda
Wilde is a mosaic artist living in Georgetown, Texas. She favors
three dimensional pieces that can be
picked up and handled. A close inspection of her work will reveal
traces of her artistic history that includes fiber-based art in
various forms. Her pieces all include some degree of fabric-backed
tessarae or leather to provide unique textures and visual interest.
Her work
has been displayed at Austin Bergstrom International Airport,
Dougherty Arts center, and prestigious Austin area galleries. She
was recently commissioned to create the 1st place trophy
for an international music festival in Germany. Her memberships
include the Austin Mosaic Guild, the Society of American Mosaic
Artists, and the Texas Society of Sculptors.
Linda
works out of her home, a uniquely sculptured adobe house on ten
barely tamed acres where she lives with her family, pets, and a
flock of domestic birds.
