For over forty five years Dan Pogue has been an award-winning sculptor.  He studied under international sculptor Keating Donohoe in Oklahoma City for two years.  He has had his own art bronze foundry since 1970.  He sculpts in clay and casts his work in bronze in the foundry near Marble Falls, Texas.  They appear with great movement and expression.  His designs continue to intrigue and delight the viewers.  Dan’s new series of “Bright Shapes and Missing Pieces” exhibits a new modern and contemporary style.  The Kudu is the third in the series.

Pogue has expert knowledge in all aspects of sculpture creation, including designing, molding, casting and creating the right patina for each bronze.  Many of his life size and monumental sculptures have been placed internationally at churches, libraries, universities, memorial parks, and other public and private locations.  His work includes commissions of religious and other figures, and portraits of well-known people for memorials.  Other works of art include figurative, portraits, impressionism and some wildlife, that he has cast in limited editions.

Pogue and his wife, Marti founded the successful “Sculpture on Main” exhibition in Marble Falls, TX. It is a yearly Public Art project in its fourth year and starting applications for year five. Dan will be showing “Matching Pair” in 2011-2012 exhibit of sculptures that starts on October 14th on Historic Main Street. Sculpture on Main is sponsored by the Lake LBJ/ Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce and the Community Art Fund; gaining the reputation of a quality sculpture exhibit and bringing tourists back year after year.
